Police Destroy Bhang Plantation In Ruai

Police in Ruai Njiru sub-county have destroyed a bhang plantation in Ruai, Nairobi County.

Njru Deputy Subcounty Commander Jackson Sang says that the destroyed bhang was planted in a 50 by 100 acre piece of land.

According to Sang, owner of the plantation had hired two employees to take care of the plants in the fenced piece of land.

“Our officers drawn from Kayole and Ruai areas, found the cannabis sativa plants in a man’s homestead which is illegal,” said Sang.

Sang says that the cannabis sativa plants had been harvested severally and that there is another section that had seedlings.

“The owner of the farm is known and he had two employees who are still at large. I want to tell the youth that bhang is dangerous, they should completely shun its consumption,” he said.

Area residents expressed outrage over discovery saying that the sale of bhang is rampant in the area.

“They are destroying our children with this thing. Bhang is dangerous and it is unfortunate that its sale is quite high in the city.
