Police officers in Lang’ata raided Karen area and nabbed Bhang near an ATM that serves more than 8 universities.
They also arrested three people in connection to Bhang distribution in the area.
“Nilikuwa na information kuhusu mahali palikuwa panauzwa bangi, baada ya kuenda huko nikapata ni kweli mahali ndani nyuma ya maduka mahali inaitwa liberty Karen. Tumewakamata watu watatu na watapelekwa kotini,”Lang’ata OCPD Monica Kimani said.

According to Lang’ata OCPD Monica Kimani, the den has been in operation for years without the knowledge of the authorities.
“Karen Bhang ATM” Used by students To Procure Drugs
Unfortunately she said that university students who were lining up there in disguise of using the ATM were visiting the place to buy drugs.
She intimated that the “Karen Bhang ATM” was used by students from various universities to procure the contraband which she said was criminal.
The OCPD has now issued a stern warning to the operators and the owner who is currently at large, urging them to surrender to the authorities’ further advising University students to shun drugs.

“My advice kwa youth haswa huku lang’ata sub county penye kuna universities nyingi sana wafanye kitu iliwapeleka shuleni….tulipofika kule nilihuzunishwa sana….wengi wa wale waliokuwa wanapinga hii operation ni vijana wa universities…inamaanisha kuwa wengi wao ni customers,”
“Operation kama hii itaendelea, hatutachoka…kama kuna mtu anafikiria eti tutastop then anaota….for a person ambaye hana information, you would think its an mpesa shop…hii mbinu tumeigundua…namba ambayo imewekwa pale ambayo tunaaamini kuwa wateja walikuwa wanailipia , tutaichunguza na tutajua ni ya nani na baadaye tutashika yule big fish,”
