Police have launched a manhunt for a man accused of attacking his 15 year old daughter with a grass slasher for putting on a pair of trousers in Manyatta, Kisumu County.

The man reportedly started beating the daughter using his bare hands before attacking her with the grass slasher and inflicting injuries on her.

Nessy Atieno says that his father called her back to the house when she was off for basketball game dressed in a tracksuit.

“After my  house chores, I dressed myself in my tracksuit ready to leave for a basketball game. Upon leaving, Dad called me back to the house with a loud voice. When I got into the house, he locked the door and started beating me. He first used his hand and later went for a slasher which was outside,” she narrated.

“My whole body is aching with a cut in my hand,” explained Nessy.

Nessy’s mother Jackline Mori further confirmed that this not the first time the father is committing the heinous act.

“I got a call from a neighbor that my daughter has been beaten and is nursing some cuts on her hands. This is something which has been happening, he is a father who likes war all the time,” Mori added.

She says that she has tried to stop him but all her efforts have been in vain.

She is now appealing to the relevant authorities for justice for her daughter.
