Police officers today lobed teargas at Azimio Legislators who had marched to the anniversary towers to protest against the interdiction of IEBC Deputy CEO Ruth Kulundu.
The MPS led by Ruaraka MP TJ Kajwang were however dispersed after the police lobbed teargas at them outside IEBC offices.
At some point, a police officeroffered to escort TJ Kajwang to the IEBC offices only if he left his supporters behind.
“Why are you throwing teargas at us?” posed TJ who was accompanied by other legislators including Muriithi Mwenje of Embakasi West.
“It is part of our duty, hii ndiyo tulichaguliwa kufanya… those are not people Moses, why do you put people on me? These are kenyans who are interested,” he said.
A handful of protesters had also accompanied TJ Kajwang to the demonstrations.
Kulundu had been interdicted last week over a number of issues including gross misconduct, insubordination and participation in illegal activities, contrary to her employment terms of service.
Kulundu was apparently on the side of the four breakaway commissioners who protested the August 9 presidential results.
