A police constable was today arraigned over the murder of a matatu conductor in Ongata Rongai last month.

Constable Edwin Oscar Okimaru is accused of committing the offense together with two others on the night of 18th April at Olekasasi area.

He was arraigned in front of High Court Judge Justice George Odunga at the Machakos Law Courts.

He however pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Okimaru was represented by advocates Lydia Abuya and Emmanuel Mwangi.

His lawyers requested for reasonable bail terms saying the accused has been in remand for 18 days and it would be unfair to ask for more time.

Odunga directed that they appear in court on June 7 for bond/bail terms
