Police officer arrested after shooting dead Kigumo OCS
In Muranga County a police driver was arrested hours after he shot dead his boss, Henry Odongo the OCS of Kigumo in unclear circumstances.
The two were in office Sunday evening when the incident happened. The officer identified as constable Lelei used the OCS’ pistol to shoot him dead before he tried to escape.
The OCS Chief Inspector was pronounced dead as he was being treated at a local hospital at about 8 pm Sunday while the assailant was arrested hours later.
It is not clear what caused the rift between the two leading to the assailant grabbing the OCS’ gun and shooting him five times in the hands and stomach fatally wounding him. The incident comes weeks after OCS Julius Mugambi was shot dead in Kericho by his driver.
