A Police Officer has been arrested for allegedly being involved in a series of robberies in Nyamache, Kisii County.
Robert Rono who is attached to Nyamache Police Station was arrested on Saturday evening after he was accused of breaking into houses and stealing goods from the police line houses.
A police report seen by Ghetto Radio states that the Rono’s colleagues living with him in the police lines are the ones who reported him.
A search conducted in Rono’s house revealed bhang and items he allegedly stole from the house break-ins.
“When he was spotted in the line, OCS ordered a search to be done in his house and the following items were recovered, Itel phone, four rolls of bhang, six different types of keys, Kenya police patch, two Equity ATMs with two different names,” read the police report.
The police officer was also found with eight used Safaricom card holders with different serial numbers.
He has been escorted to Nyangusu Police Station to be charged on Monday for being in possession of Bhang and a series of burglaries within the police line.
The DCI in Nyamache has commenced investigation to establish the truth behind the items recovered.
