Police officer arrested for killing Student in Kibera


A police officer was on Wednesday arrested in connection with the murder of the University of Leeds student Carilton David Maina in Kibera, Nairobi on December 22, 2018.
According to a tweet from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) the officer is set to be arraigned on Thursday.
Police constable Emmanuel Ambunya Oyombe, attached at Kenyatta National Hospital, was arrested following completion of an inquest into the death of the 23-year-old student.
The 23-year-old University of Leeds student was on a long Holiday in December 2018 when the fateful incident happened.
Maina had gotten a scholarship to study electronic engineering at the University following the completion of his O levels at Maseno School.
