A police officer has died and seven others are feared dead after they were swept away by floods at Chemoe, Baringo North constituency .
The officers were reportedly pushing their vehicle which was stuck in the bed of River Kagir when the floods swept them away around 7.30 PM on Thursday.
Baringo County police commander Robinson Ndiwa confirmed the recovery of one body while stating that efforts were underway to rescue the other officers.
The search and rescue teams on the ground include; ASTU Loruk, RDU Kagir, the other officers from ASTU Chemoe and GD officers from Yatya Police post.
On Wednesday, Devolution CS Eugene Wamalwa said Kenya lost 116 lives to the ongoing floods.
