Police officer Duncan Ndiema has been charged with the murder of 13-year old Yassin Moyo in Huruma estate in late March.
Appearing before High Court Judge Luka Kimaru, Ndiema pleaded not guilty and will now be remanded at Capitol Hill pending a determination of his bail hearing on Wednesday.
Ndiema failed to take a plea on Friday June 19th after exhibiting Covid-19 like symptoms.
His lawyer, Danstan Omari said Ndiema was unwell, exhibiting Covid-19 symptoms and was advised to go to Mbagathi Hospital for testing.
The court was this morning told that Ndiema tested negative for the deadly disease despite exhibiting similar symptoms.
The latest comes after the Director of Public Prosecutions approved the arrest and prosecution of the police officer who reportedly shot the 13-year-old in March.
