Police Officer Fighting For His Life After Suspect Pushes Him Off Speeding Vehicle

A police officer is fighting for his life at the Migori County Referral Hospital after he was pushed off a speeding police motor vehicle by a suspected criminal in Migori County.

Officer identified as Martin Kuria attached to  Kehancha Police Station in Kuria West on Thursday night suffered a head injury after he hit his head on a tarmac after one of the four suspected criminals arrested at Kencha Township turned violent.

According to a police report, the suspect then managed to escape to a nearby thicket.

“It was reported that while patrol in company of cpl Richard Onyonka, pc/w Guadencia Francis on board of station motor vehicle registration number gkb667t  managed to arrest four prisioners at Kehancha but one of them turned violent but officers managed to subdue him, put him police motor,” reads the report.

” Upon reaching at Kehancha law courts Junction on their way to the station, the unknown suspect who turned violent pushed the officer off speeding station motor vehicle and escaped towards the nearby thicket,” read the police report.

The injured officer is currently on a lifesaving machine.

“He was rushed to Kehancha sub-county hospital where he was treated and referred Migori county referral hospital where he is on a lifesaving machine, he is unconscious and bleeding from left ear,” reads the report

Efforts to re-arrest the escapee are underway.
