A police officer on Saturday evening shot himself after shooting dead a female colleague at the Kamukunji Police Station.
Lawrence Ewoi shot himself two times using a G3 rifle just an hour after fatally shooting a female colleague and injuring another one.
It is not yet clear why Ewoi shot the female colleague but reports indicate that it might have been out of issues of romance.
The female colleague died upon arrival at the Kenyatta National Hospital.
Area residents say that they heard gun shots at around 10 pm on Saturday and did not know what had transpired.
“We heard gun shots at around 10pm. They were very fierce, so we thought that there might have been a crossfire between police officers and suspected thugs,” said a woman who spoke to Ghetto Radio News.
Ewoi is currently in hospital and is reportedly in a stable condition.
