A police officer has touched the hearts of many Kenyans after she was pictured holding a new born baby for a candidate sitting for her KCPE exams
Gladys Kimani from Nduru Sub-County Hospital, on Monday held the one day old baby as the mother sat for exams.
Kimani says that she offered to help after noticing that the mother of the child did not have anybody to hold the baby for her as the exams started.
“The mother is not well. Even today, she sat for the first paper lying on bed, ” said Kimani.
According to Kimani the candidate’s mother is also not well, she has a mental illness.
“The girl comes from a very needy family. Her mother suffers from a mental illness. The two were living with their grandmother.”
