A senior officer at the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions was yesterday morning found dead at his house in Pioneer Estate in Nairobi.
The decomposing body of Fredrick Ashimosi Shitiambasi, a senior Assistant Director at the ODPP was discovered dead by his neighbours, who noted a foul smell from his house.
The neighbours made the report to the police, who broke the door to find Ashimosi’s lifeless body already decomposed.
The 47-year-old was at the time if his demise attached to the Prosecution Training Institute.
Police stated that the deceased had complained that he was unwell and had taken a sick leave. Preliminary investigations pointed to carbon monoxide as the cause of the prosecutor’s death as a charcoal burner was found beside his bed.
The body currently lies at a city morgue awaiting autopsy.
