Police Retrieve Foetus Aborted By Secondary School Student

Police in Marani Sub- county, Kisii county with the help of Kisii County disaster management on Saturday retrieved a lifeless infant after it was reported to be dumped into a pit latrine at Kenyoro Mixed Secondary.

According to the police report , it was reported that at Kenyoro Mixed School a girl student procured a abortion and dumped the foetus in a pit latrine.

The girl aged 17 years is suspected to have procured an abortion of a nine month old pregnancy and threw the foetus in the pit latrine.

“It was reported by Megogo area chief Mr. Richard Makori mobile number withheld that at Kenyoro Mixed Secondary school a girl procured abortion and dumped the foetus in a pit latrine,” reads the police report.

The police Officers are reported to had tried to retrieve the body but all ended in vain forcing them to call for aid from County disaster management.

The report further states that the girl was rushed to Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital where she was admitted in maternity ward for medical attention.

The scene was processed and the body of the infant taken to Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital Mortuary .
