Police Service Promises To Take Action Against New Graduands After Viral Video

The National Police Services has stated that it will take proper action against the young GSU officers caught on camera making reckless remarks about shooting people.

In a statement the police service stated that the remarks of the young GSU graduands do not depict that of the police service.

According to the statement all the graduands went through a rigorous value-based training that is designed to make them responsible officers.

“Attention of the NPS is drawn to a video clip circulating on social media depicting newly graduated GSU officers recording themselves as they make some irresponsible and reckless remarks. We wish to clarify and assure the public that the behaviour portrayed in the clip is not acceptable and does not reflect the values of the GSU, KPS and the NPS,” read the statement.

“All graduands went through a rigorous value-based training modelled on democratic policing principles and designed to make them responsive and responsible officers of the law at the service of citizens.”

A trending video of the young graduands from training shows them dancing and celebrating their graduation while at the same time demonstrating how they will shoot people.

“Ndiyo hiyo… tushamaliza… mambang’a… tunawakilisha… hapana tambua… hawa ni wale wazii… wale wa pa pa pa,” the video shows.

NPS has described the action of the young GSU officers as regrettable further promising to take action against them.

“The remarks as made in the clip are therefore regrettable and stand condemned. An internal review is ongoing with a view of preferring appropriate measures regarding the incident,” the statement read.

GSU is renown for its focused training aimed at producing highly disciplined and responsible officers.
