Police Station On The Spot For Hiring Out Uniforms

A police station in Siaya County is on the spot for allegedly hiring out uniforms to criminals.

Sigomre Police Station in Ugunja, Siaya County reportedly gives criminals uniforms which they in turn use to conduct crime.

The claims were made by Ugunja Deputy County Commissioner Felix Watakila who stated that the act is being conducted by some unscrupulous criminals.

“When you take your uniform and give it to a criminal to in turn get money, you automatically become an enemy of the people and the country because you are participating in crimes,” stated Watakila.

Watakila says that the observations were made following an intelligence report.

“If you can give civilians your uniform to commit crimes for them to pay you…you are selling your country to criminals for Ksh.5,000?” he stated.

To solve the mess Watakila says that he will transfer the police officers who have overstayed at the police station.

“There are those who have overstayed in this area, and we are going to remove all of them because they are the ones conspiring with these criminals. We will remove all of them,” he stated.

He has further called for collaborations with wananchi to solve crime situations in the area.
