Police were today forced to use teargas to disperse Gikomba traders who were protesting against the government’s decision to hold their second hand clothes at the port of Mombasa.

The traders who started protesting in the morning accused Industrialization CS Betty Maina of holding their goods over Covid-19.

The traders burnt tyres on the road, help processions from Gikomba to Shauri Moyo calling on president Uhuru Kenyatta to quickly intervene.

Pumwani MCA Paul Ndung’u also joined the protesters reiterating the traders’ call for the president’s intervention.
