Police Unearth Cartel Swindling Kenyans Of Millions With Fake Job Promises


Police have arrested eight people behind a cartel extorting money from Kenyans with fake promises of jobs abroad.

The eight suspects were arrested by Directorate of Criminal Investigations officers at the Clarrion and 680 hotels.

Police say the suspects have extorted money amounting to millions of shillings from unsuspecting Kenyans.

Police say they have testimonies from at least 300 victims who have allegedly paid Ksh. 130,000 each to the suspects.

“Detectives from Central P/S. By 16/9/19, over 300 Victims who have been defrauded up to Ksh. 130K each ….allegedly to cater for Logistics, Training & Transport to Kuwait were waiting in vain for their journey to mature,” said the police.

The suspects include Frankline Otieno, Kevin Olondi, Stella Cheruto, Joseph Gikonyo, Catherine Ngendoi, Habiba Shafi, Aisha Mohamed & Mary Ogola.

A female suspect is however on the run.

They are set to be arraigned in court.
