The Centre for Multiparty Democracy CMD has called for the faithful implementation of the two thirds gender principle in the forth coming nomination process by political parties.
CMD’s Chair Omingo Magara says they have noted that plenty remains to be done to achieve the constitutional requirement of the two third gender principle.
They further recognize the various legal provisions for women participation.
Martha Karua who was present at the event urged the women to fight hard to be heard and get their rights to be fully represented in parliament.
She went on to say that there is lack of trust in among the political parties thus need a system of check and balances that is parliament.
She added that trust is need especially in our institutions especially the IEBC which is the body handling the elections for the welfare of the nation.
