A section of Kenyans on social media have come out to show their displeasure on the new house that is being built by the government for the late World record marathoner Kelvin Kiptum.

Days after his tragic death the government swiftly mobilized construction machinery to Naiberi in Uasin Gishu County in Order to build a new house for the late in a record 8 days.

However as construction progresses a section of Kenyan’s on social media seem not to be happy with the construction as the house takes shape.

“What’s that thing they have constructed for Kiptum’s family?” one Kerubo Hillary asked on X

Some have expressed dismay, questioning why a plywood house is being erected instead of a more substantial three-bedroom structure befitting the late athlete’s legacy.

Kiptum’s Burial Pushed Forward

“I’ve followed this Kelvin Kiptum house closely and honestly I’m lost. I think Kelvin Kiptum deserved a better standard house than this Plywood structure!” Omwamba Kenya said.

Others have also compared it to a warehouse while others have opted to withhold their comments until the completion of the house

Kelvin Kiptum tragically lost his life in a road accident last week together with his Rwandan Coach Gervais Hakizimana.

His burial, initially scheduled for February 24th, has been brought forward to February 23rd to accommodate the attendance of President Willis Ruto.

However, reports suggest that President Ruto will have a tight schedule, as he plans to fly to Namibia on Saturday.
