Jamaican Dancehall star Andrae Sutherland popularly known by his stage name as Popcaan, could soon be shifting to making his music as an independent artist.
Popcaan who has been with Drake’s OVO Sound since late 2018, says he will become a free agent in the near future.
“I have so much music. The label can be weird sometimes. I love the label, but I don’t like them…But I’ll be independent soon.”

The Party Shot hitmaker also promises another new album this year, even though his latest one, Great Is He, is still fresh in the minds of Unruly fans across the world.
The album which was his third under OVO Sound, was released on January 27.
Popcaan and OVO Sound’s founder Drake have worked on a hit dubbed We Caa Done which is part of the Great Is He album and the state of their current relationship is still unclear.

Other artists featured on that album include Burna Boy, Toni-Ann Singh and Chronic Law.
Great Is He came in at number three on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart selling 3,200 units during its first week of release.
In 2014, he released his first studio album, Where We Come From under Dre Skull’s Mixpak Records. It peaked at No. 2 on Billboard’s Reggae Albums chart.
His second album Forever was also done under the Mixpak Records. It entered the Billboard 200 chart at No. 171 and also peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Reggae albums chart.
His third and fourth albums Vanquish and FIXTAPE, were both released under OVO Sound.
