President William Ruto has led Kenyans in mourning the departed sports journalist, Sean Cardovillis.

According to the head of state, the media industry had lost one of its finer minds in the world of sports journalism.

“Saddened by the passing of a brilliant and outstanding sports broadcaster Sean Cardovillis. He was a cool, insightful and gifted journalist who played an integral role on our radio stations” Read part of the condolence.

Ruto further added that Sean’s contribution and vibrancy will be greatly missed.

He sent love and light to the family and the media industry for loosing such a talent.

“We will miss his clear and concise voice, passion and upbeat personality. Our prayers are with his family and media fraternity at this painful time. Rest in Peace, Sean”. Summed up Ruto.

Lived Alone

According to the police, Sean was found by a cleaner at the staircase to his apartment on Rhapta Road in Westlands.

An ambulance was immediately called, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

He lived alone and details are still scanty if he was leaving for work or coming back home.

His employer, Capital FM also mourned him disclosing that his family had been relayed on his demise.

“The renowned sports commentator who worked here at Capital FM passed away this morning at his house in Westlands, and his family has been informed” read part of the tribute.

It further added that Sean’s undying passion for sports saw him earn recognition both at home and abroad.

Sean’s last interview was with multiple World Champion, Faith Kipyegon and was slated for Saturday’s (today) show.

May his soul rest in eternal peace.
