President William Ruto has commended the efforts of the police officers in handling protesters in the ongoing opposition anti government protests.
Speaking in Isiolo today, the President assured the residents that peace will be maintained even as the demonstrations continue until tomorrow Friday.
He thanked the police in dealing with protesters engaged in criminal activities during the Azimio la Umoja coalition protests which wants the government to solve the high cost of living.

“I want to thank our police for being bold and ensuring that there is peace and ensuring that action is taken on all offenders so that we ensure that there is peace in Kenya and people’s property is protected,”
He said.
President Ruto acknowledged the challenges faced by the security forces in dealing with provocative protesters but emphasized that they acted with restraint while effectively tackling those who resorted to violence and criminal acts.
He condemned the actions of some protesters who caused havoc and damaged public and private property, assuring that they will be brought to justice for their actions.

DP Gachagua Thanks CS Kindiki

On his part, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua echoed the sentiments of the President, praising the police for their diligent work in maintaining law and order during the protests.
“Tunampongeza waziri wetu wa usalama Professor Kithure Kindiki, IG Koome na maafisa wote wa usalama katika Kenya, wamezuia maafa na uharibifu wa mali…pongezi na muendelee kulinda Kenya,”
Gachagua said.
At least five people have been reported killed in the anti-government protests across the country.

The situation escalated in Kibra yesterday when police reportedly shot a 10-year-old child in the leg during clashes with demonstrators.
