The government has announced that a 2kg packet of Unga will cost Ksh. 90 from Tuesday.
The 1 Kg packet will retail at Ksh 47.
This follows the government’s agreement with maize flour millers.
Addressing the media Agriculture cabinet secretary Willy Bett says the prices will remain in force until the harvest season.
The packets of unga will now bear GOK symbols.
Bett however, refrained from the maize importation dilema that has raised public eye brows, saying the maize floor were imported by millers and that they are in a better position to address the matter.
