Tanzanian politician and heavyweight rapper Professor Jay has made a musical comeback with the song ‘ Siku 462’ featuring gospel powerhouse Walter Chilambo detailing the former’s death scare.

The song’s title ‘Siku 462’ is derived from the days the Nikusaidiaje rapper spent in hospital.

The song kicks off with the smooth vocals of Walter Chilambo pouring praise to the higher being for a second chance in life for Professor Jay.

“Bila mkono wako na neema yako, huruma zako nisingekuwepo, bila msaada wako na macho yako kunitazama nisingekua hai” goes part of the chorus.

Frail Voice

Professor Jay comes through in the first verse despite his voice still being frail due to his long battle with sickness.

However, the veteran rapper has not lost his rapping prowess.

His verse is filled with metaphors, punchlines and a remarkable rhyme scheme as he narrates his near death ordeal.

Professor Jay affirms that he had lost hope in life.

Machines were mounted on his body which aided his well-being.

There were also rumors that he had passed away.

As the song nears its end, Professor Jay is thankful for all the prayers and help he received from his fans including the President Mama Samia Suluhu.

Professor Jay has since launched the ‘Professor Jay Foundation’  which is aimed at aiding those suffering from kidney ailments.

He noted that kidney ailments are expensive to treat and his foundation will seek to support those in need.
