Protests as Chinese Firm exhumes bodies from graveyard

Villagers yesterday protested against a Chinese constructor who exhumed 36 human skeletons from a grave yard in Kiteta Kitui County.

The Chinese constructor was allegedly excavating murram for the construction of the Kibwezi-Kitui Raod.

Residents say the excavation has seen the Chinese constructor dig up human skulls and bones together with rotten wooden coffins.

A tycoon allegedly sold the disputed graveyard to the Chinese Company constructing the Kitu-Kibwezi Road.

Accordint to the residents the disputed land was turned into a graveyard after the owner a man known as Mutuku Mutunga and his three wives died a few years ago.

The deceased and his three wives were all burried in the disputed land.
