A section of Kibera residents have taken to the streets to protest the arrest of National Resistance Movement’s self proclaimed General Miguna Miguna.

The protesters burnt tyres on the road and barricaded some sections demanding for the immediate release of Miguna.

Traffic along the road has been disrupted and motorists advised to use alternative routes.

The self-declared National Resistance Movement general Miguna Miguna was arrested by police at his Runda home on Friday morning.

The Director of Criminal Investigations George Kinoti said that Miguna was arrested for administering an illegal oath and being a member of NRM, a movement that has since been outlawed by the Government.
