Prudential Reiterates Commitment To Support Sports Talent In africa
Prudential Life Assurance has reiterated its commitment towards supporting talent and passion for sports in Africa.
Prudential Life Assurance is the current official insurance partner of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.
The company’s Chief Executive Officer Gwen Kinisu says that the sports sponsorship is its way of encouraging people to stay more active and also lead more healthy lifestyles.
“This sponsorship underscores Prudential’s commitment to the African continent. As we grow our business in Africa, we also want to support the passion and talent of its people. Africans share a common love for football, and we are honoured to be part of a tournament that unites the continent and brings together the brightest talents of African football,” he said.
Kinisu spoke in Nairobi when the insurance company held a watch party during the Nigeria vs South Sudan match on Saturday.
Apart from just supporting sports and talent, the insurance firm also wants to help people attain greater financial security so that they can fulfil their life goals.
“In football, winning games is about having the best talent and getting them to play as a united team. Similarly, as we continue to invest and grow in Africa, people remain the key driver of our business and future growth. We are committed to developing more local talent, to be the leaders of our business,” said Kinisu.
Prudential has been in Africa for almost a decade and it is currently present in eight countries, namely, Cameroon, Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Kenya, Togo, Uganda, Zambia and Nigeria.
