PSG Receives Hostile Reception Following Demolition by Barcelona

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) players came to a hostile reception from angry fans following a heavy defeat of 6:1 in their Champions League 2nd leg tie courtesy of Barcelona.The players and their families were threatened by angry fans on their return to the French capital.
The club reported that players were insulted and had their cars vandalized by supporters who were waiting to confront the team at Bourget Airport.The incident created an extremely hostile and aggressive climate according to club officials.
PSG further added that one person was struck by a car during the incident and the matter is now a subject of police investigation.The League 1 giants said it strongly condemned the behavior of the supporters involved.
The club released a statement on Wednesday night that upon their return from Barcelona, the Paris St Germain players were confronted and threatened by several individuals at Bourget Airport.It happened despite the club and authorities reinforcing security.
“These individuals verbally insulted the players before vandalizing their cars. Several vehicles were damaged,” the statement read.
PSG failed to utilize a 4-0 advantage against the Spanish giants Barcelona as they allowed six goals go past their goal line.The defeat saw the Catalans go down to books of history in the Champions League as the first team to overturn a 4-0 first leg deficit to advance into the quarters.
In that extremely hostile and aggressive climate, all vehicles were escorted to ensure the safe passage of the players, their families and club staff members. One individual was struck by a car trying to escape the crowd that was physically threatening the players and their families.
Following the incident,the club has strongly condemned the actions and behavior of the individuals in question.
