Pumwani Maternity Hospital have dismissed claims of bed shortage for mothers who are delivering at the facility saying they are able to accommodate those who seek their services.
In an interview with Ghetto Radio News Pumwani Maternity Hospital through its administrator Geoffrey Mosiria however, agrees that number of mothers visiting the falicity is growing huge day by day.
‘‘We must accept that this facility is now attracting more clients and this is simply because we have improved services here, this is not the Pumwani we had many years ago…we are also getting clients coming all the way from Machakos and Kiambu counties.’’ Mosiria said.
Meanwhile acting medical superintendent Pumwani Dr. Fariah Affi has also attributed the same with the introduction of milk bank that was introduced at the facility.
‘’We started from somewhere and at some moment we were giving out glucose and water to newborns in circumstances where mothers could not produce enough breast milk but through human breast milk stored at the milk-bank we get milk donors and then help needy mothers.’’ She said.
