Pumwani Maternity Hospital has maintained that they are still not accepting breast milk from breastfeeding mothers from outside the facility.
In an exclusive interview with Ghetto Radio News the Hospital administrator Geoffrey Mosiria says that they are still at the piloting stage hence the strict rule.
‘‘Yes we have received several requests and more people want to donate but what we can say is that we are doing piloting and should the condition allow the same we shall accept such mothers…but its also true that we are currently getting enough milk from mothers that deliver in Pumwani,’’ Mosiria said.
Marlene Ada a breastfeeding mother has narrated to Ghetto Radio News the difficulties she is passing through in handling her excess breast milk.
According to Marlene she has enough storage place her pumped store or who to give since her baby is already enjoying enough .
‘‘My clothes gets soaked with milk i have to pump it out every time, i mean these people should allow us donate from outside and help a mother or a newborn who is in need of the milk. As a person i feel bad being denied such opportunity.’’
Meanwhile Pumwani administration maintains that they are getting enough milk to its new born unit that needs it .
