Odm leader Raila Odinga in a bid to reclaim his territory trooped to Turkana county yesterday to sell his BBI agenda to area residents.

In a trip that has been deemed by many as successful, the odm supremo in company of many leaders including the two main gubernatorial candidate cabinet secretary John munyes and Loima member of parliament  Jeremiah Lomorukai  rallied  residents and the county assembly of Turkana to pass the BBI bill.

Odinga reminded the residents of the various development projects  coming  through  AU and the Jubilee  government.

“We want BBI to pass because it will solve most challenges facing the country, including unemployment. Some of the issues we raised in the BBI process are administrative, but we are subjecting other issues, which can’t be implemented administratively but must be done through a referendum,” Raila said .

While the rallies were going on something unprecedented was taking place, the arousing welcome given to Embakasi East member of parliament Babu owino .

The popular MP was mobbed by residents who carried him shoulder high signing and shouting his Tibim slogan. Most local MPs were surprised by the support the one time Embakasi MP received. Babu who currently seen by many as the new Otieno Kajwang is expected to begin his countywide tour to popularize the BBI initiative and to market Odinga’s 2022 candidature.

Asked why he plans to tour the whole country to popularize the BBI and Mr Odinga’s candidature, the MP told our correspondent that he is not happy with the lackluster way some of his Odm seniors are campaigning for the BBI and Mr. Odinga.

‘‘BBI is the only bridge that will ensure we are out of poverty…let’s not allow hustler policies here ..you people should tell them to bring you lorries not wheelbarrows  and in 2022 Raila Odinga is our candidate and from now I will campaign for BBI and  Railas’ presidential bid,’’ Owino added.

Meanwhile Turkana County assembly has vowed to pass the BBI Bill unopposed.
