Azimio leader Raila Odinga has refuted talks of handshake between him and President William Ruto.

This is despite the two leaders meeting three times within a span of 24 hours.

Raila during a media briefing described him meetings with Ruto as mere coincidence and that they had nothing to do with the current political situation in the country.

The two leaders first met at Ms. Mukami Kimathi’s funeral in Nyandarua, then immediately after the burial they met in Kasarani at the Kip keino Classic and thereafter during the Mashemeji derby at Nyayo Stadium.

“We met there with Ruto, his deputy and his ministers, it was a chance meeting. They said it was a state meeting but we said we will go despite the threats by some Kenya Kwanza officials,” said Raila.

“I had been invited at the Kip Keino classic. I did not know that he was going to be there, we did not invite each other. The following day there was a Mashemeji Derby between AFC leopards and Gor Mahia. I attended the match as a Gor Mahia captain,” said Raila.
