Raila Odinga Declares To Vie for Presidency in 2022
It is now official that Raila Odinga will vie for presidency in 2022.
Odinga will now face his fierce rival Deputy President William Ruto who is vying on UDA ticket.
According to Raila he has made the choice to run for the 5th time following an overwhelming request from his countrywide Azimio la Umoja forum but not to oppose anyone.
“I Raila Amollo Odinga having been faithful and committed to building national democratic and progressive Kenya, having worked for and with many patriotic Kenyans I do hereby accept to present myself as a presidential candidate at the presidential election on the 9th of August 2022,’’ Raila said.
Raila promised to address sugar industry mess in the Western, Cotton and industrial collapse in Nyanza, tea and Coffee market in Central and insecurity in arid and semi-arid counties among others.
He has come up with a ten point plan to have challenges facing the 47 counties tackled, a better medical scheme dubbed Babacare, social security fund where Raila plan to issue 6000 shillings per month to needy families among other initiatives.
“Inua Jammi Pesa mfukoni program will deliver 6,000 per month to two million of the country needy families it is not a handout but an investment and it will help middle class to thrive small business enterprise..Baba care-we will ensure every Kenyans have health insurance cover and if you can’t pay the government will pay for you,’’ Raila stated.
“Kazi Kwa Wote – it will create jobs in Jua Kali sector, Uchumi Kwa Kinamama will focus on our women to unlock financing in women business. Inawezekana– our youths are exploited in politics it will equip them to small business enterprise,” he added.
“Fukuza Njaa not to feed but to generate agriculture bounty and mitigation high agricultural productivity. One County one product- it designs to a Kenya that consumes it’s product the national government will support it fully,” he stated.
He made the declaration at Kasarani Stadium flanked by top government officials, governors among other dignitaries.
Azimio la Umoja has also be declared a movement and Raila will now use it drum up support from other political parties.
