Rapper Fetty Wap pleads guilty to drug charges


American rapper Willie Junior Maxwell II better known by his stage name as Fetty Wap could possibly face a jail time not exceeding 5 years after pleading guilty to the drug charges that were filed against him in October 2021.

The ‘Trap Queen’ hit maker admitted to being part of a Long Island-based network that ferried more than 100kg of drugs including cocaine between the US states.

The 31 year old rapper is currently in jail for breaking his bail conditions after being accused of threatening to kill a man. He was accused of flashing a gun and yelling “Imma kill you and everybody you with” during a FaceTime call.

Prosecutors say it happened about two months after his arrest in the drugs case and he had agreed not to violate any laws or be in possession of lethal weapons under his bail terms.

Fetty Wap who pleaded guilty to distributing and possessing cocaine, was first arrested at a stadium in New York in October 2021 and was detained alongside five other members of the alleged trafficking gang.

They are accused of transporting, distributing and selling more than 100kg of cocaine, heroin, fentanyl, and crack cocaine across state lines between June 2019 and June 2020.

The rapper remains in custody as he awaits sentencing.
