Atlanta rapper/mogul T.I. has teamed up with the Missouri-based Vecino Group to bring about positive change in Atlanta’s housing landscape.

Along with his wife,Tiny,the mayor of Atlanta ,Andre Dickens and several groups involved in making this project happen, He helped unveil the housing unit.

Unveiling Of The Project

According to WSB-TV, the “Rubber Band Man” lyricist, who talked about the construction of this housing development over two years ago, finally got the chance to show off the site

T.I. initially  announced  the project in October 2021, revealing they were nearly halfway through completing the construction of 143 units.

During the ceremony, T.I. recalled a story from his upbringing in the Atlanta neighborhood.

“I’m going to tell y’all a secret,” he said, per the outlet. “Don’t tell nobody. I got caught stealing from this Kmart. I thought that, you know, just to offset the shame that came with that, it would behoove me to invest in the community by acquiring these properties.”

Units For Homeless Youth.

The development includes 143 apartments and 25 special units for homeless youth.

The Intrada Westside sits across from Center Hill Park in northwest Atlanta.

“The arts and entertainment industry in this city has been able to collaborate and, I guess, be profitable enough to offer the community so many things that are much needed,” TI said.

Developers say the property was once a shopping center where T.I.’s grandmother used to shop for groceries.

T.I. has kept his word on a promise to his city

As previously reported by  Afrotech  during a 2022  interview on podcast “Earn Your Leisure,” the Atlanta Rapper spoke about his mission to create a real estate development that would provide affordable housing in the area known as Bankhead, where he grew up.
