Reality Check for MCAs  As County Assembly Term Comes to an End

Less than two months to General Elections the politicians are slowly coming to terms with new life that’s awaits them.

ODM nominated MCA Mary Ariviza Mwami is among the Nairobi MCAs who will not be in the ballot  after being edged out of the nomination exercise.

Ariviza contested for Dagoreti North member of Parliament seat but her party ODM issued a  direct ticket to former Nairobi County Assembly speaker Beatrice Elachi.

According to Ariviza it was undemocratic for ODM to give  another candidate a ticket yet they were in the same race. She describes that as the beginning of her political down-fall.

“Of course am not happy with the move by the ODM party to issues direct ticket to Elachi but that’s the decision of the party and it’s final mine is now to support that candidate as directed by the party….I am in ODM  to stay and will continue championing for its ideologies..”

She however, boast of several bills and motions passed in Assembly during their tenure.

She now hope that ODM party will rekindle  her political gain by nominating her back to the House.Besides politics. Ariviza is a lecturer, psychologist and a counsellor

She describes Nairobi County Assembly as a challenging environment to work  but she has been equal to task.

“I served very tight circumstances why would I not served again ,we take challenges and I believe there were circumstance that made this place be chaotic including removals of speakers and I hope the next group would be mature enough to handle the same.. I am als ready to take any challenge given to me by my party ODM .” she said.
