The Mbagathi Hospital morgue is facing a crisis following a high number of uncollected bodies at facility.
The hospital reports that there is a total of 97 (56 males and 41 females) uncollected bodies lying at the facility’s morgue.
The facility management says the bodies were brought at the beginning of 2015 but are yet to be collected to date.
The Hospital’s health Administrative Officer Nelly Induli says the hospital has already forwarded the names to the county for the public gazette notice .
‘‘Yes we have uncollected 97 bodies and as we speak, we have already gotten approval from the chief health officer to advertise them on local dailies. Once done, we shall issue a notice of 21 days thereafter the Hospital will proceed to bury them in a mass grave at Langata Cemetery.’’ Said Nelly.
Last month, City Hall raised a red flag over a total of 23 unclaimed bodies at City Mortuary.
After publishing the names, only half of bodies were identified and collected buy their loved ones.
