Reggae artist Anthony Martin commonly known as Lutan Fyah is among the 12 finalists battling out at the Jamaica Festival Competition in it’s 55th edition.
The Singer has already submitted his track ‘Jah Mek Yah’ which he did in a record 30 minutes after being encouraged by his guitarist Ernie Wilks.
“My band member came up with the beat and told me to write the lyrics and that was it. I am happy to be part of it,” said Lutan.
The winning song will earn a prize money of $3 million to be shared among the producer, the writer and the Singer. He however, maintains that he is not focused on the prize money but in case he emerges as the winner, he will plan wisely for it.
“I wasn’t thinking about it at all. I don’t have any plans for the money if I win, maybe I’ll think of something later down the line” stated Fyah.
The competition previously has not been a preserve for established artists and their inclusion this time seems as a way of expanding its audience.
