Relief For Slum Cancer Patient As Well Wishers Raise Fund For Treatment

Omanwa’s wife at her home, before she was taken to the Kenyatta National Hospital

Patrobas Omanwa Embakasi a resident whose wife had been battling with colon cancer for the last two years, can now breathe a sigh of relief after well wishers joined hands and took her wife for treatment at the Kenyatta National Hospital.

Omanwa’s wife was stuck in the house without drugs after her family ran out of funds to take her to the hospital after undergoing surgery that cost them around 100,000.

The well wishers were led by Corporal Summy  who after receiving a call from a resident, mobilized friend including Senator Mike Sonko and raised 50,000 shillings that took Omanwa’s wife to the hospital.

Speaking at Omanwa’s hous, Juilius Owino alias Maji maji who is Embaksi ward MCA aspirant pledged to find Omwanwa a job as well as cater for his rent in a safer house.

Meanwhile arrangements to have patient transferred to Texas Cancer Centre for regular  treatment and check-ups are underway.
