Rihanna’s long-awaited musical comeback could be happening this week, according to a teaser from Marvel Studios.
The film- production company had fans in a frenzy after posting a teaser for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’s soundtrack, with the name of the movie fading out to isolate one of the letters ‘R’ as well as the date of October 28, 2022.
This comes a week after rumours began that the Barbadian singer has two songs on the soundtrack to the Black Panther sequel.
Fans were quick to conclude that the R in the video confirmed that they may finally get some new music from the star, whose last album, Anti, was released in 2016 and her last single as a lead artist, Wild Thoughts, dropped in 2017.
Following the teaser clip, fans were quick to share their excitement at the posibility of new music from Badgal Riri, tweeting: ‘RIHANNA OH MY GOD’ and ‘NEW RIHANNA LETS GOOOO’.
Her fans from all around the globe had spent years waiting for confirmation of new music after Rihanna continually teased projects which turned out not to be an album, but launches for her make-up and clothing lines.
In 2019, she leaned in to the frustration felt by fans who have been waiting years for new music from her by trolling them, when she shared a video of a dog dancing, captioning it jokingly: ‘update: me listening to R9 by myself and refusing to release it.’
She recently teased that she would be the Super Bowl Halftime Show performer for 2023, taking place in Arizona, posting a photo of her arm holding a ball and captioning it, “NFL = National Fenty League 👑.” in reference to the American National Football League.
