Self-proclaimed president of gospel musician Ringtone Apoko has refused to join the list of celebrities joining politics.
The musician claimed that he wants to focus on God and joining politics will drift him away from ministering the gospel of God.
Ringtone says that he wants to touch people through the connections and financial influence he has.
“But najiuliza swali nitaserve kweli sababu vijana especially gospel artists, ministers ama pastors huwa tunajidanganya that nikiingia pale ndani nitapeleka the word of God parliament but in the real since ukiingia pale ndani natoka na shetani. So huwa najiuliza if niko ready kuloose soul yangu sababu ya pesa yenye napatanga bila ata kuingia Bunge. Sahi Mungu amenipea the connections and financial influence yenye naweza touch nayo watu Africa,” Ringtone said.
While hitting at Kenyans, Ringtone said that Kenyans will attack him of stealing their money anytime he buys something.
“Wakenya hawataki kuserviwa, Wakenya ni wajuaji na wakora. waKenya hata sahi nikiingia wanipee kiti, the next thing ile kitu nikonayo watasema nimewaibia nimenunua. So mimi naona nikama sijaamua kabisa kama nataka kusimama ama sitasimama. Lakini kitu najua ni nikisimama lazima nitashinda na naweza simama places mob na nishinda. Nikona job yenye nataka nifanye kabla maybe nisimame kwa sababu nataka kuimpact Africa. Nataka kukuwa the father of street children like their role model,” Ringtone added.
He made it clear that there is no difference between his friends in politics and him because they still on the same level.
“My friends wako politics kina Jaguar, kina Babu Owino lakini mimi naonanga hakuna kitu wamenishinda. So naona nibaki tu kwa ministry. Kenyans should be lucky to have e because if I was a Tanzania wangekuwa wananitamani sana kwa sababu mimi ndio nitapeleka banner ya gospel ya Kenya Africa mzima. Sahi nikona collabo na the biggest Congolese artist na nimefika adi Nigeria. I want to be the biggest gospel artist in Africa,” Ringtone said.
