Self-proclaimed president of gospel musicians Ringtone Apoko has come to the defense of former Kenya Film Classification Board Ezekiel Mutua asking the government to reinstate him back to his office.
Apoko says that the government did not have to fire Mutua following the good job he did in making sure that creative come with clean content that don’t harm children.
The ‘Pamela’ hit maker added that it will be hard to fill the shoes of Mutua ans someone who instilled discipline in artists the way Mutua did.
“Mimi nataka kusema ni makosa makubwa serekali kumvuta Ezekiel Mutua kazi. Kwa sababu Ezekiel Mutua ndio pekke yake mmoja mwenye anajaribu kukosoa wale wasanii ambao wanachukua usani too far. Yani tunaruhusiwa kufanya usanii na Kenya ikona freedom of speech lakini kuna wakati vijana tunatake it too far lakini Ezekiel Mutua ndio alikuwa the right person kukosoa kina Eric Omondi.,” said Apoko.
“Mimi nataka kuambia serekali imekosea sana kumvuta Ezekiel Mutua kazi na tunataka imrudishe kazi kwa sababu hakuna makosa yeyote okay kama kuna makosa ya corruption staki kusema lakini ama kuna mtu alikuwa anapigana na tabia mbaya ni Ezekiel Mutua,” added Apoko.
The musician had recently travelled to South Africa to seek further medication after he was assaulted by blogger Robert Alai.
Ringtone however failed to give more details on the case between him and Alai because they were requested by the court not to speak about the case.
