Deputy President William Samoei Ruto has eulogised the police officer who was found dead yesterday in his house at Imara Daima.
Sergent Kipyegon Kenei worked at Ruto’s Harambee House Annex Office and was among the five officers who were on duty when former Cabinet Secretary Rashid Echesa met with foreigners during the fake Ksh. 40 Billion fire arms deal.
Ruto has described Kenei as a young and discipline officer.
He has also urged the relevant authorities to conduct a thorough investigation to ascertain the circumstances surrounding his death.
“Deeply saddened by the death of Police Sergent Kipyegon Kenei who worked in my Harambee House Annex Office. Kenei was a disciplined young police officer. I urge the relevant authorities to conduct a thorough investigation to ascertain the circumstances surrounding his death,” tweeted Ruto.
Kenei’s decomposing body was found in his house at Imara Daima Estate with a bullet wound in his head.
DCI officers have been waiting for Kenei to record a statement but he however failed to turn up for work for two days.
The circumstances that led to his death are yet to be determined.
