Ruto Promises To Unite Kenya, Work With Opposition When Sworn In

Kenya’s President-elect William Ruto has promised to unite the country once he assumes the office as the fifth president of Kenya.

Ruto during his maiden speech says that he will make sure that the country moves to the next level united and prosperous.

“I will make sure that this country moves to the next level as united, as prosperous,” said Ruto.

“In this election, there are no losers, the people of Kenya have won. There is no room for vengeance, there is no room for looking back, we are looking into the future,” he said.

Ruto who was declared the winner of the presidential election by IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati thanked the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission for conducting a free and fair election.

“IEBC led by Wafula Chebukati are the heroes in this election. The results in the public portal, all servers were open. I congratulate the IEBC for raising the bar.”

He has promised to run a transparent government and also work with the opposition.

“We are working towards having a functioning and democratic Kenya. I want to promise them that their sacrifice will not be in vain,” he said.
