Ruto To Appoint Six Judges Rejected By Uhuru


President William Ruto has stated that he will appoint the six Court of Appeal judges rejected by former president Uhuru Kenyatta.

In his inauguration speech Ruto stated that he will preside over the swearing in of the judges who were appointed by the Judicial service Commission tomorrow in order to ensure that service to citizens is not halted.

“Tomorrow. I shall preside over their swearing-in so that they can get on with the business of serving the people of Kenya,” said Ruto.

The six judges include Justice Aggrey Muchelule, George Odunga, Weldon Korir and Joel Ngugi.

“To further demonstrate my commitment to the independence of the judiciary, this afternoon, I will appoint the six judges already nominated for appointment to the court of appeal which was done three years ago,” he said.

Uhuru in the meantime hailed the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission  and the judiciary for upholding  of the rule of law.
