Ruto unveils independent candidate for Msambweni by election

Just a day after Deputy President William Ruto reluctantly accepted Jubilee Party’s decision to not field a candidate for the Msambweni parliamentary seat, the DP has unveiled an independent candidate he will be supporting.

Ruto has unveiled Feisal Abdallah Bader for the Msambweni by election in Karen.

Bader has been unveiled in the presence of Kilifi North MP Owen Baya, Nyali MP Mohamed Ali and Lunga Lunga MP Khatib Mwashetani.

“Met an aspirant for Msambweni parliamentary seat Feisal Abdallah Bader in company of Coast MPs Athman Shariff,” Ruto tweeted.

Yesterday Ruto had arrived at the Jubilee Party in the company of Sharlet Mariam, a candidate who had decamped from ODM Party to Jubilee with the hopes of clinching the party ticket.

Reports state that Ms. Mariam had arrived at the Jubilee Headquarters with Ruto hoping to receive the party’s certificate to vie in the by election.

Ruto on Wednesday stated that the candidates who had hoped to vie on a Jubilee ticket will now vie on independent ticket or another party.
