President William Ruto has now directed all 2100 government employees with fake academic documents to exit and refund all salaries they have been drawing from the day they were employed.
Ruto also directed Director of Criminal Investigation (DCI) and Ethic and Anti Corruption Commission to move with speed and nab all those that are in service with fake academic papers.

“We must deal firmly with corruption. There is a lot of wastage and theft in the public space. We can put more resources into development and I think we have now stabilised what we needed to stabilise. We will now confront corruption, head on, going forward,” he said.
“A simple audit has revealed that we have 2,100 people with fake certificates working for government. From this conference, I hope we are going to add one more resolution on fake certificates. Those who have earned money using fake certificates should refund us our public money,” he said.

Meanwhile the Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has promised to smoke out those with fake certificates and have reached him for protection.

“I’m not really concerned about the issue of papers because I don’t want to go the River Road route…mimi natosheka na ile kidogo niko nayo,” the DP said.
“I have been complaining that I’m lonely at the top because my boss has three degrees, Comptroller of State House has three yet I have one so these River Road people have been looking for me,” Gachagua revealed.
“They are telling me ‘you are the deputy president what are you complaining about yet we have helped many people?…We have helped so and so and so”, Gachagua said.
