Dangerous Bridge
The video shared by @MikeWachira on Twitter also showed an insecure bridge that is allegedly being used by school going children.
“Kama hii ni daraja, iwekwe place pa kushikilia coz hii daraja huvukisha watoto wakitoka shule. Hii daraja yote mtoto akianguka hawezi baki,” said Wachira.
A prompt response from Sakaja after the viral video stated that the structure being used as a bridge is actually not a bridge but a truck sewer constructed decades ago.
“It’s actually not a bridge. It’s a trunk sewer that’s been there for decades,” said Sakaja.
The governor further stated that engineers from the Nairobi Water and Sewerage Company were sorting the sewer spillage.
“You can see the road on the side. Our engineers from Nairobi Water are on site sorting the Spillage issues,” he stated.
